Dr. Nelson received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from the University of Saskatchewan.  She then completed a one-year hospital pharmacy residency at Surrey Memorial Hospital in Surrey, British Columbia.  Afterwards, she returned to Saskatoon to practice at St. Paul’s Hospital in the areas of critical care, renal transplant, and general medicine for three years.  She then completed her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) at University of Toronto in 2007 and took her current position at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto.

Dr. Nelson is a Clinical Practice Leader in the Pharmacy Department and specializes in Infectious Diseases and Antimicrobial Stewardship.  She has worked with the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program since its inception in 2009.
